The pilot's watch

Hans-Joachim Marseille was an extremely precise shot who never needed much ammunition. Marseille died as a result of engine trouble in his BF 109 with no enemy action: his last radio message was "Have engine trouble, am getting out".

Precision is also one of this watch's strengths. Uhrenteile-Manufaktur from Schramberg in the Black Forest and the Swiss ETA mechanism Valjoux 7750 are guarantors of precision and sophisticated technology. So there's no reason to fear "engine trouble".

Hans-Joachim Marseille was known as the "Star of Africa" because that was where he carried out his missions. His plane and the gold-plated rotor of the ETA Valjoux 7750 mechanism are adorned with a tiger head on the continent of Africa.

The pilot

"The young Berliner Hans-Joachim Marseille went down in history as the most accurate marksman and possibly the Luftwaffe's best fighter pilot. Known as the 'Star of Africa", he went on to become the bugbear of Britain's Royal Air Force in North Africa..... "
